Welcome!

Welcome to W5PC - the official website of the Amateur Radio Club of Parker County, Texas

"....serving the Community through Public Service."

                                    HOME PAGE

The Amateur Radio Club of Parker County (ARCPC) is a non-profit educational and service organization chartered under the laws of the State of Texas.

ARCPC is affiliated with the American Radio Relay League, a national association of Amateur Radio clubs.

Our members' communication interests range from voice, Morse Code (CW), and digital modes - as well as message handling to contesting, experimentation to public service activities... and even just plain chatting on the air!  We all share a unique love for Amateur Radio (a.k.a. "Ham Radio") and are dedicated to the enhancement and preservation of this fun and valued activity and hobby.

ARCPC was established to be an all-volunteer membership club focused primarily on educational and public service aspects of the Amateur Radio Service.

The theory and practice of Amateur Radio is taught to both non-hams wishing to obtain an entry level license and hams wishing to advance to higher levels of FCC license class - through lectures, formal Amateur Radio classes, and American Radio Relay League-coordinated FCC exam sessions.

If you've arrived at our website - you probably already have your amateur license, are interested in obtaining your amateur license or at least wonder what amateur radio is all about.  We invite you to watch this short informative video on how one might be involved in this interesting hobby:

'Make Amateur Radio Part of Your Plan'

If you want to get your amateur radio license, the ARCPC holds informal evening or weekend classes during the year to help you learn what is necessary to successful pass the written test - and also hosts monthly license exams right here in Weatherford.

If you are already licensed and wish to upgrade to the next level or are a new 'ham' and need help with your equipment and/or have other operational questions, we can help with that too...!

We will help you get your first Ham license or upgrade to the next level...!

From all the hams here at W5PC, a hearty 73!! (best wishes)

The Radio Amateur is

PROGRESSIVE...with knowledge abreast of science, a well-built and efficient station and operation above reproach.

FRIENDLY...slow and patient operating when requested; friendly advice and counsel to the beginner; kindly assistance, cooperation and consideration for the interests of others. These are the hallmarks of the amateur spirit.
