Photos taken June 2007 Weatherford, TX Each year in June ARCPC club members setup W5PC to participate in the annual ARRL Field Day. This year, we invited the Tri-county ARC WC5C to join us. The theme for this years event was ARRL Field Day and Emergency Preparedness Expo. Our location was a large lot in town owned by Weatherford Regional Medical Center (formerly Campbell Hospital). Our transmitter class and section was 2A NTX. Everyone had a great time and we had a record number of visitors. Attendees included Mayors from Weatherford and Aledo, representatives from Parker County Emergency Management, Weatherford and Hudson Oaks Fire Departments, Life Care Ambulance, the American Red Cross, and the Coast Guard. Also attending were several Boy Scouts who earned their radio merit badges while there. We sponsored a VE test session and had an upgrade to extra and two upgrades to general. Our first rate hospitality crew consisted of Judy Wolfe KB5JEY, Beth Thompson K5BLT, Jerry Thompson W7JT, and Brett Shayler KE5ALK. Brett invited a special guest chef who made a big batch of authentic cajun gumbo Saturday night. Beth and Jerry provided their usual Sunday pancakes and sausage. Thanks to everyone who helped setup and tear down. It seemed a monumental task this year but everyone pulled together for a truly first rate Field Day. A special thanks to Tri-County ARC for furnishing a first rate emergency coms trailer for our GOTA station and test session, a really nice satellite station, and a great uhf/vhf station. The final QSO count was 1469. Total QSO points after the power multiplier was 5096. Bonus points totaled 1430. Total claimed score was 6526. click Here for Full Results
